As a member of the European Parliament’s delegation for COP21, I begin by lending my support for the Commissioner’s strong reiteration of the need for ambition in Paris and his calls for the EU to maintain its leadership in climate action before and after Paris.

Bray, Co Wicklow was the location for a unique Climate Change event today (Friday, 20th November) hosted by Seán Kelly MEP on the importance of achieving a global deal to reduce carbon emissions in Paris next month.

Seán Kelly MEP (Ireland South) has confirmed that the Kerry-based Shannon LNG project and its connecting pipeline will now be considered a key part of the EU’s energy strategy. The decision places Shannon LNG on an updated list of key European Projects of Common Interest to integrate Europe’s energy markets and diversify sources.
