Sean Kelly, MEP for Ireland South, has welcomed the positive news of Energywise Ireland’s plans to generate employment opportunities in the Munster region over the next two years. Energywise Ireland, a renowned energy solutions specialist, that designs, supplies and installs renewable energy solutions for both domestic and commercial clients.
Kelly stated he was ” very pleased to see Energywise Ireland’s plans to create 100 skilled jobs in Munster. He highlighted that “these are the exact type of jobs the country needs, especially as so many people are looking to renovate their homes in the most cost-effective way.”
“Addressing the energy performance of buildings will create thousands of local, non-outsourceable jobs, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises. I would like to see more upskilling and reskilling programs, particularly focused on intermediaries such as installers, architects, or contractors”, said Kelly.
Energywise Ireland has already established itself with a workforce of 90 dedicated professionals at its premises in Cork and Ballyduff in Co Kerry. Their commitment to sustainable energy solutions aligns with Kelly’s long-standing efforts at the European Union level to decarbonize the building stock.
One-Stop-Shops serve as hubs for homeowners, providing them with an immersive experience to embark on their journey towards a renewable, efficient, and comfortable future.
Reflecting on these efforts, Mr. Kelly added, “Over the last number of years, I have been working on legislation at EU level that aims to decarbonize the building stock. I am particularly pleased that Energywise Ireland has become an SEAI-registered One-Stop-Shop. As a point of priority in negotiations, I have included new provisions to detail how One-Stop-Shops will operate across the EU. I believe they will be fundamental in helping people renovate their homes and buildings, even of this is a step-by-step process.”
