Sean Kelly MEP (South) has welcomed Ireland’s number one ranking as Western Europe’s best country to invest in, according to the Global Best to Invest Report.

“In its sixth annual Best to Invest rankings of nations and metro areas for investment-attraction activity in 2013, Ireland is ranked the number one best place to invest in Western Europe ,” said MEP Kelly, a member of the European Parliament’s Industry Committee.

“Ireland made the top spot based on a number of factors such as a growth in new facilities, capital investment and job creation across 2012 and 2013. Each country was also ranked on the total number of projects, investment and jobs created both as raw value and as a per capita value,” Mr Kelly said.

Site Selection report authors state “Capital investors only invest where they are confident they will earn a meaningful return, and these locations deliver that confidence”.

Sean Kelly MEP was named MEP of the Year in 2012 for his work in promoting the interests of Irish businesses, especially SMEs, and educational institutions at European level.
