Seán Kelly MEP hosted a delegation from University College Cork at a special celebratory event in honour of the bicentenary of Professor George Boole of UCC, in the European Parliament, Brussels on Thursday (3 December).
“George Boole was the first Professor of Mathematics at UCC and is widely regarded as the forefather of the Information Age,” Mr Kelly said.
The event included a question and answer session with the President of UCC, Dr Michael Murphy, Professor Barry O’Sullivan, Director of Insight Centre for Data Analytics and Dr Kieran Drain, CEO Tyndall National Institute, both of UCC, Cork.
