“Energy prices across the EU have gone up around 6 percent since 2008, so I welcome a new package of measures from the European Commission which have the potential to bring “significant cost-savings to households down the line”, according to MEP for Ireland South and leader of Fine Gael in the European Parliament, Seán Kelly.

Over the past few years, the European Commission has adopted a series of measures to raise Europe’s preparedness to ward off cyber incidents. The NIS Directive is the first piece of EU-wide legislation on cybersecurity.

“Irish small to medium sized-businesses (SMEs) should set New Year resolutions to explore the possibility of growing their operations, where feasible, and seek financing advice from the newly established European Investment Bank office in Dublin”, Seán Kelly MEP said today.
