Kerry-based MEP Seán Kelly is inviting locals to a public meeting on EU funding opportunities he will host in Tralee this Friday 12th October (9-11am). Attendees will hear insights from key speakers including representatives from the European Commission, the European Investment Bank and local businesses.

“It’s a perfect opportunity for constituents to learn from the experts about funding opportunities they can avail of in the EU,” the Ireland-South MEP said today (Thursday), speaking from Brussels.

“As a lead negotiator for the Parliament’s Industry, Research & Energy Committee on the InvestEU funding instrument, I believe it is crucial to inform citizens and stakeholders of the importance of potential funding and engagements with the EU institutions, and where better to start than at home in Co Kerry and my constituency of Ireland South.”

This is the fourth such informational event organised by Mr Kelly, Fine Gael leader in the European Parliament, in an effort to highlight EU funding opportunities to Irish communities over the past three years.

“This very timely meeting will give the public a chance to find out how to access EU funding, and to hear all about the InvestEU programme, which will bring a number of financial instruments together under one umbrella and steer investment in sustainable infrastructure, small and medium businesses and social investment and skills.”

The meeting will take place in IT Tralee (Room L104, Sólás Building) on 12th October from 9-11am with registration and refreshments available from 8:30am. To register please email [email protected].
