The leader of the Fine Gael delegation in the European Parliament Sean Kelly has congratulated Ireland’s next European Commissioner, Phil Hogan TD, on securing the much sought-after Agriculture portfolio.

Sean Kelly MEP, the Leader of the Fine Gael delegation in the European Parliament, will press EU leaders to introduce a number of measures to protect the agri-food sector from any negative impact in the wake of Russian import restrictions, during the Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg next week.

Irish children should begin learning a third language at primary school, according to Sean Kelly MEP.

“All EU citizens will have the right to a basic bank account, regardless of where they live or their financial situation, thanks to new EU rules,” Sean Kelly MEP said today.
